If you are a fast and accurate typist and you complete all of your assignments on time, they will probably be very happy to have found you, and they’ll try to throw as much work your way as possible.
The other type of legitimate data entry job that can sometimes be found is once again working for a company that provides data entry services, but not specifically in the fields of medical billing and coding or in medical transcription. These are jobs that will vary widely from one job to another, depending on the kind of information that the company is trying to collate. This type of work can pay very well, but it is not as regular—most of the jobs are one-off jobs, where the contractee sends over their documents or information, and the contractor (your company) collates it into a usable form for them. Whereas a hospital may need their medical billing and transcription to be performed daily (or sometimes immediately in case of certain types of medical cases), this other type of work only comes up occasionally. A good company will find a constant source of work for you, but the job may be changing every time a new job comes in, so you’ll have to come up with a new system every time you get a large job. This can be looked at as a challenge, or it can be looked at as keeping things interesting, depending on how well you adapt to such changes, and how much you enjoy the job.
To seek out legitimate online data entry jobs, you should start looking around at advertisers or companies who are looking to hire data entry clerks. Not people who are going to give you leads or sell you a list of companies that are offering work. You can find these companies yourself—there’s no need to pay somebody for something you are capable of doing on your own with just a little bit of work.
